We're delighted to welcome Gravetye Estate to the Weald to Waves corridor, as the William Robinson Gravetye Charity become one of the project's newest partners. The East Sussex estate was once the residence of the forward-thinking William Robinson, known for his pioneering natural gardening approach.

With 600 acres of woodland, farmland, lakes, wild flower meadows and gardens, the estate holds special significance for conservation enthusiasts. As well as work on wildlife ponds and hedgerows, the William Robinson Gravetye Charity are also gathering valuable species data that will help to build up a picture of the wildlife in the area. Gravetye share our passion for access to nature and investing in wildlife education. We are excited to collaborate on youth projects as we try to get more young people back into our natural landscapes.

Robinson's emphasis on green spaces and wellbeing, especially during the Industrial Revolution, was truly ahead of its time. Today, visitors can enjoy miles of free scenic trails that embody Robinson's ethos. There couldn’t be a better time than the autumn to explore the changing colours of this wonderful woodland estate.
